WHITE CROSSES: ROADSIDE MEMORIALS IN THE AMERICAN WEST
For the past two years I have been photographing white crosses along Montana’s highways. The white crosses mark the site of death by car accident. Decorating the crosses with personal memorabilia helps family members cope with their grief. The site becomes a spiritually charged place where the loved one’s last moments were spent on earth.
